Our client, one of the leading telecommunication company in Kenya responsible for marketing domains among other ICT infrastructure invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons with excellent performance track record to fill the above vacant position.



  1. The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the day-to-day management of Organization and shall report directly to the Board on the same;
  2. Technical responsibility managing vendors to maintain the system availability of the Organization servers;
  3. Represent Organization’s interest in internet and governance conferences and cascade the outcomes of such forums to Organization’s management team and affiliated members;
  4. To lead the management team and work closely with the various managers to ensure efficient and effective operations of Organization;
  5. Developing the executing fund raising and resource mobilization strategies
  6. Engagement with the stakeholders and Organization registrars;
  7. Responsibilities for governance risk and compliance;
  8. Ensure strategy and departmental plans of Organization are in place for meeting internal and external stakeholders’ expectations. Further, the Chief Executive Officer shall contribute to the strategic and tactical planning and management of the entire business of Organization and make medium- and short-term plans and key objectives of Organization;
  9. The Chief Executive Officer will be the “public face” of Organization and shall manage industry and stakeholder relations;
  10. Prepare the annual budget ( including forecast, expenditure and capital budgets) in accordance with timetables set by the Board;
  11. It shall be a core responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that the annual revenue and profit targets by Organization board are attained;
  12. Ensure the value for money concept is incorporated in all small business activities of Organization and will manage all activities of Organization within the budget so developed;
  13. Monitoring and controlling functional head performance through cost and achievement against annual targets and budgets;
  14. Ensure the agreed strategies actions are fully progressed within the timing provided and that communication with the stakeholders and Organization Board are accurate and timely;
  15. The Chief Executive Officer shall be responsible for the management, training and development of staff;
  16. Defining the Mission and objectives of all departmental manager, carrying out performance reviews based on agreed KPI’s promoting quality of work and motivating personnel and developing their skills to keep abreast of technical development;
  17. Define and provide advice on matters affecting Organization;
  18. Prepare and submit quarterly Board Reports and such other reports as may be required from time to time by the Board of Directors of Organization and/or relevant committees of the Board;
  19. Ensuring the activities of Organization abide by laws and regulations of Kenya, in particular all relevant acts; and
  20. Lead the management team in ensuring existence of tangible efficient and effective operations at Organization.
  21. actively engage stakeholders and the ICT community;
  22. Any other duties or responsibilities as may be communicated or assigned to the Chief Executive Officer by the Organization Board from time to time.



The following are the key performance standard that shall be expected of the Chief Executive Officer:

  1. Business sustainability (profitability)
  2. Overall achievement of sales targets, introduction of new customers and management of existing customers;
  3. Debt collection and management;
  4. Introduction of new profitable products;
  5. Maintaining good relations with stakeholders, clients and the community at large;
  6. Effective utilization of allocated resources;
  7. Maintaining and controlling budget;
  8. Quality and optimization of staff and other resources;
  9. Fund raising to supplement income;
  10. Such other standards that may be set by the Organization Board from time to time.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Seasoned sales and marketing experience with quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of managing people
  • Experience with SLA management and technical capacity management
  • Experience in internet governance and working on policies related to driving internet growth


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA/MSC in related field
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in the industry
  • Demonstrable ability to rally a team to achieve performance excellence.
  • Strong communication, organizational and collaboration skills with the ability to define and drive large initiatives across organizational boundaries and geographies
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem solving and analytical skills with a high degree of analytical and business rigor
  • Solid understanding of the SSA mobile industry and Android’s position in it, as well as a solid understanding of Google products such as Search and YouTube
