Dr. Ben Chumo

Dr. Ben Chumo is a renowned Human Resource Management practitioner, educator, innovator, and transformative leader who has devoted his life to improving the wellbeing of Kenyans.
Dr. Chumo holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Resource Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (2013), an MBA from the University of Nairobi (2006), and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi (1984). He has served as Managing Director and CEO of Kenya Power, transforming the company's customer base from 2.2 million to 4.2 million customers within just 2 years.
His international experience includes consultancy services in war-torn Afghanistan in 2010, where he developed strategies for enhancing revenue collection and streamlining meter reading services for Kabul Electricity Directorate. Dr. Chumo has also been an adjunct faculty in Human Resource Management at both Jomo Kenyatta University and the University of Nairobi, and hopes to teach and mentor young people on human resource management when he retires.
